Franche-Comté in the age of sportAccording to a TNS Sofres study Franche-Comté is one of the most sporting regions in France: 62% of inhabitants of Franche-Comté practice a regular or occasional sporting activity (as against 54% of French people).
Sport also interests Franche-Comté companies since a Besançon company has just invented a cooling vest for athletes that will be tested at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
And with regard to the Olympic Games! 10 athletes from Franche-Comté will participate in the 2008 games:

Marie-Laure Gigon in rifle shooting (10 metres and 50 metres in three positions)
Julien Nicolardot in swimming (200 metres breaststroke)
Philippe Colin in kayak (buoyed course with lanes – K2 1000 metres, with his team mate Cyrille Carré)
Reina Flor Okori in athletics (100 metres hurdles)
Raphaëlle Tervelle in handball
Véronique Girardet in shooting (Olympic Skeet)
