FEMTO–ST: Electronics, Mechanics, Heat Sciences and Optics, Science and Technology
This combined research unit attached to the CNRS, at the University of FRANCHE-COMTÉ, at the ENSMM Institute of Technology and the University of Technology at Belfort-Montbéliard brings together 360 researchers in 5 departments.

UTINAM : Univers, Transport, Interface, Nanostructures, Atmosphere & Environment, Molecules
It combines UFC and CNRS and combines the skills of the astrophysics laboratory and the Besançon research institute, in interface materials chemistry and molecular physics.

FC LAB – Fuel Cell Laboratory
An interface dedicated to the fuel cell system for land transport, FC LAB is a collaboration between universities, industries and organisations.

IFR 133 - Federal Institute for Research in Engineering and Cellular Biology
The UFC and IN SERM research institutions work together in close cooperation with the CHU and the French Blood Institution.

MSH - La Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Claude Nicolas Ledoux
This associative structure brings together 17 research teams from the University of FRANCHE-COMTÉ and the Belfort-Montbéliard University of Technology. MSH Ledoux aims to associate the laboratories and research teams involved in Human and Social Sciences in FRANCHE-COMTÉ.

THEMA - Theorising and Modelling for Organisation
This combined research unit links the CNRS, the Universities of FRANCHE-COMTÉ and Burgundy and is part of the MSH in both universities. It combines in particular four research teams. 

Cancéropôle Grand-Est (Eastern France Cancer cluster)
An associative structure under local law, the Cancéropôle Grand Est groups hospital centres, anticancer centres, research organizations, associations and regional local authorities.
