University of FRANCHE-COMTÉ
Establishing new areas of knowledge is one of the priorities of the University of Franche-Comté. It has set itself the goal of continually strengthening cooperation, quality and the value of its research. Today, its teams are recognised the world over for the quality of their work.

Besançon Automation Laboratory
The Besançon Automation Laboratory (LAB) was created in 1969 and linked to the CNRS in 1980. It is now a combined research institute of the French National Centre for Scientific Research, the CNRS (UMR 6596) associated in a tri-partite agreement with the University of Franche-Comté, the Higher National School of Mechanical Engineering and Microtechnologies and with the CNRS. It is based on section 07 of the Information Sciences and Technologies department (STIC).
